How do my customers receive this confirmation to submit their app to the Apple App Store?
Document for the App Submission
for the successful app submission to an individual Apple developer account – published by a private person – a document showing the ownership of the app content by the publisher (above mentioned private person) is required. The reason for this is Guideline 5.2.1 – Legal – Intellectual Property:
“We noticed that your app was created from an app generation service or a commercialized template, but does not appear to be directly submitted by the owner or provider of the business, brand, or service.”
App for Companies
As a small business, your customers can use their business registration to confirm ownership of the account. The name of the publisher or the name of the developer account must be noted on the document.
Example
As attorney Max Mustermann I have an Individual Developer Account with the title Max Mustermann.
No Business Registration Available
However, sometimes a business registration is not necessary, e.g. if your customers are freelancers or hobby photographers. Here your customers need a handwritten document that describes that the app owner – i.e. your customer – presents his own content in the app. The document only needs to be signed with the name of the developer account or publisher.
Example
The practice Mustermann is my law office. In the app I present my self created content to keep clients up to date.
