AppYourself’s approach for future App submissions
We’d like to inform you that we’re adjusting our previous submission process for the Apple App Store. The reason for this is that we want to make it more customer friendly and therefore more pleasant for you and your customers. We’d like to tell you how we’re going to do it:
- The customer creates a developer account as a company account with his company name as listed in his app
- Your customer sends invitations to the Apple Developer Console and iTunes Connect to the email address stored in the dashboard
- If necessary, we transfer the app from your reseller account to your customer’s account
- After receiving the invitations, AppYourself takes over the submission and maintenance in the App Store
1. Developer account as company account
First, it is necessary for each of your customers to create their own developer account as a company account. This ensures that the owner of the app and the Apple developer account are one person. Please ask your customer about this and encourage him to do so. If your customer still has an individual developer account, it must first be converted into a company account. In this manual you will see how your customers have to proceed. To create a developer account as a company account we have prepared a detailed support article.
2. Invitations to Apple Developer Console and iTunes Connect
In comparison to before, we no longer use the login data for the developer account, which was stored in your customer’s dashboard. From now on, we will only accept invitations that your customer must send to both the Apple Developer Console and iTunes Connect. After the payment for the company account has been accepted by Apple, your customer can start sending the invitations in his dashboard. Sending both invitations completes the company account. Your customer will automatically see an email address provided and managed by us in the Edit section under Publish > App store. He sends the two invitations to this address. Your customer will also find instructions on how to proceed in the dashboard. Once all the necessary data has been entered, your customer clicks on the Connect button. Afterwards only the verification from our side is pending. This process takes less than one working day. Once the verification is complete, your customer will see a green button under Publishing Status. Only now is it possible to (re-)submit the app.
3. Initiating a possible app transfer
We take over the so-called app transfer for you, if customers still have apps on their reseller account at Apple. This means that we transfer the apps from your account to your customer’s company developer account. This happens as soon as we have received the invitations and the data of the new Apple developer account. New submissions of existing apps to the “wrong” developer account are no longer possible.
4. App submission after account creation and received invitation
Once the steps (step 3 is optional) have been completed, we will submit the apps to the App Store. You or your customer don’t have to do anything anymore. If you have any questions, you can of course contact our Reseller Support at any time.
Note
Please understand that we only accept invitations and no more login data for the company account. Furthermore, it must be clear that the Company Developer Account owner and owner of the app content – i.e. your customer – can be clearly assigned.
